Catch the Crush September 26 & 27, 2009 Join the Columbia Valley wineries in celebrating harvest and crush at the 23rd annual "Catch the Crush" event in the heart of Washington's wine country. Each of the wineries offers its own celebratory events including grape stomps, harvest and crush activities, winery tours, free run juice, hors d’oeuvres, live music, and of course – wine tasting! Don’t miss out on the beauty of the Indian Summer in the Columbia Valley vineyards and our great wines on special this weekend. Our wineries will be open both Saturday and Sunday (check winery websites for hours). Please bring your own glass, or purchase the optional VIP ticket that includes a glass. There is no charge for regular admittance, only for a VIP ticket. |

We offer an optional VIP ticket to Catch the Crush that entitles the holder to a VIP Stolzle crystal wine glass and access to a special VIP offering or item at each participating winery (see below). These vary at each winery and included discounts, special tasting, food, etc. The cost is $20 each. Online sales will open in mid-August 2009. Below is the list of events for 2008.....stay tuned for 2009 details! Join us for this special event. We are open to the public 10 am to 5 pm both days. VIP: Ticket holders will receive a 10% discount on bottle purchases and at least 15% on case purchases. A perfect opportunity to sample wines from this private, limited bottling winery. Become a club member and gain access to their premium wine. We will be open 10 am to 5 pm. VIP: Ticket holders will receive a 10% discount on bottle purchases and at least 15% on case purchases. “For the serious minded connoisseur” There will be a $10 tasting fee (waived for VIP ticket holders and Wine Club members). Visitors will also enjoy an array complimentary selection of assorted, imported cheeses perfectly paired with a selection of wine and a review of the pairings. Artist reception to include Deborah Barnard-Fused Glass display, Marc Wunderlich-Landscape Photography, and John Tucker-wood We are open from 10am with wine tasting concluding at 4pm-both days. VIP: Ticket holders will have the $10 tasting fee waived. Bookwalter Winery Celebrates Harvest! Friday and Saturday we will have crush tasting from 10 am to 5 pm. Live music Friday evening with Steve Haberman & Mary Lou Gnoza playing 6 pm to 10 pm. Music for Saturday evening is Brian Holbrook playing 6 pm to 10 pm. Sunday crush tasting is 10 am to 6 pm. We will have our Book Club Pick-up Party Sunday September 28th from 2 pm to 6 pm with live music by the Steve Haberman Quartet from 2 to 5 pm. VIP: Ticket holders are entitled to free library and reserve selection tastings, as well as additional discounts We will be open to the public for wine tasting from 10 am to 5 pm both days. VIP: Ticket holders will also receive a 10% discount on wine. Join us this weekend from 10 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. VIP: Ticket holders will receive a 10% discount on bottle purchases and at least 15% on case purchases. "Two Darn Bad" (a duo from Hood River who play Folk/Blues tunes) will be performing in the court yard from noon to 4 both days, various food samples will be offered, extensive deli selection available and some 20% discount case specials on both white and red wines. VIP: Ticket holders will receive a private vertical tasting of four vintages of Columbia Crest Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon with appropriate food matches. There will be a 30% discount on the wines tasted in the VIP venue. Join Goose Ridge Estate Winery a wonderful “Catch the Crush” event. Goose Ridge will be featuring several “weekend only wine specials”. Guests will be able to enter a special raffle. The picnic grounds will be open and Country Gentleman will be on hand selling Pulled Pork or Smoked Tri-tip Sandwich served with homemade potato chips $9.00, Homemade Potato Salad $2.00, and canned pop and bottled water $2.00. VIP: Ticket holders will be able to sample a special wine and food pairing featuring new released wines. They will also save 10% on any wine purchases. Hightower will be open to the public 11 am to 5 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. VIP: Ticket holders will receive a pour of one Hightower library wine. Kiona will conduct tours of our production facility on Catch the Crush weekend and, of course, we will be tasting our wines and celebrating harvest! Enjoy our new facility including tasting and barrel rooms. Oakwood Cellars Celebrates its 22nd grape harvest. Indulge your taste buds in the Columbia Valley and you’ll experience unique Premium Washington State Wines. Fall Time in the Valley at harvest time! Warm days & cool evenings, the perfect time for a picnic on the patio!! The Educated Cigar from Richland will be on hand twith fine cigars and accessories and Sagegold Soaps will tantalize your senses. The Art of Wine: The crush pad will be set up and weather permitting, we might be crushing. We will be there to discuss the winemaking process and grapes! Saturday afternoon about 4 pm, the winemaker will have a grape stomp. Call 509.588.5332 to sign up. Don't miss out on some great case specials this weekend! The Art of Food: Indulge your taste buds with Gourmet food catered by local professionals from: Monterosso’s Italian Restaurant & Atomic Ale Brew Pub & Eatery. The chefs are cooking something great! The Art Of Music: The Rachel Bade-McMurphy Band will perform Saturday from noon to 4 pm and Sunday from 1 to 4:30 pm. Outstanding jazz music! VIP: Ticket holders will receive 30% off any case of wine (any mix). We will be open to the public for wine tasting from 10 am to 5 pm both days. VIP: Ticket holders will receive an additional 5% discount on wine. Seth Ryan has something for everyone. For the adventuresome, trek out to our 17 acres of vineyards to watch the pickers, as they demonstrate their skill of gathering clean, leaf free fruit that is on its way to the hopper for de-stemming. Visit the crush pad to sample the grapes and catch a taste of free run juice, as it heads to the tanks for fermentation. Crush pad will be set up and tours will be conducted even if the grapes are not available. A special lunch will be available for purchase. Steve Haberman and Mary Lou Gnozza will be performing live from noon to 4 pm on Saturday. All our red wine (except reserve) is on sale for $10 per bottle - don't miss out! In addition to wine tasting, Don't miss our huge red wine sale - $10 per bottle. VIP: Ticket holders will receive various discounts on merchandise and wine. Taverna Tagaris Winery will be open Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 11 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. The wine tasting fee is $5.00 which is applied to your bottle or case purchase. The tasting will include the following wines: 2001 Merlot (case special $72.00), 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon (case special $72.00), 2003 Clonk De Ponk, red table wine, (case special $60.00), 2002 Late Harvest Chenin (case special $60.00), 2006 Red Roan ( a blend of Syrah, Counoise & Mourvedre), 2006 BoarDoe ( a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot, and the 2006 Mourvedre. Lunch is served from 12:00pm until 3:00pm, Patio Kouzina 4:00pm-11:00pm and The Taverna dinner service begins at 5:00pm-10:00pm. This offer is not available for the case specials offered during tasting. We will be tasting our 2003 & 2004 Tapteil Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Mountain 2003 & 2004 Tapteil Merlot, Red Mountain 2005 Syrah, Spilya Vineyard, Yakima Valley Tapteil also offers tastings of imported gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The panoramic view from our hilltop terrace is the perfect spot for a picnic lunch. We are open 11 am to 5 pm. VIP: Ticket holders visiting our winery will be put in a raffle drawing. The winner will receive a half case of Tapteil wine which will include our 2003 & 2004 Tapteil Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Mountain, our 2003 & 2004 Tapteil Merlot, Red Mountain, our 2005 Syrah, Spilya Vineyard, Yakima Valley and our (not yet released) 2006 Syrah, Spilya Vineyard, Yakima Valley. The winner will also receive our 2005 & 2006 signed posters featuring the artist series labels from our Spilya Syrah. These items are to be picked up at the winery by the winner. Celebrate Harvest! This is the most exciting time of the year in wine country and our vineyard and winery are buzzing 24/7 during this special weekend. Learn about how we make wine, taste and sample, and relax on beautiful Red Mountain. On Friday, September 26 we will also be hosting "Wine & Food Pairing with Keith Pilgrim: Terra Blanca's Focus on Best of the Northwest Food and Wine." This event will take place at Terra Blanca from 6:30 to 10 pm. Keith Pilgrim and Dale Sheppard (of Leo's Blue Moon) pair up to provide practical, delicious guidance to anyone who's ever secretly wondered "why can't I drink red wine with fish?"
